Is it legal not to provide documentation for claims used to terminate me?

My supervisor used two written write ups to terminate me. In both she was vague in her claims against me and referenced other documents (both write ups repeatedly said "see attached notes"). These notes were not brought to the write up, never shown to me, never given to me. When I told HR about this I got no response. If I am asked to sign a document against myself but the documentation referenced is absent does this still hold up? What can I do about it?
