I'm 66 and Financial advisor position eliminated. I was given 36 week severance and they have a non-compete clause. I'm too old to start a new book of business because it took me 10 years to build what I had. Any recourse?

I've worked in this bank brokerage for 13 years and have built a book of business that has recurring revenue that I am comfortable with. I just had by best month in 10 years and with no notice of any kind my manager came to my office and said the firm has decided to eliminate my position and I will have to get my things together and leave now. He explained they are cutting back and chose my area as one to eliminate. This was end of April and he said I will be on payrole till May 31st and then a severance for 35 weeks of base pay. I am not prepaired to retire yet and with a non-compete clause there is no firm that will hire a 66 year old with no book of business to bring over.
