I worked for almost 8 years in the restaurant industry as a catering assistant before I was let go in October 2016. Since 2012, I had worked overtime but was never paid for it. I was promised comp time which I did not receive. Come to find out this is illegal in the state of Illinois. How can I get paid for all the overtime I worked? The Illinois Department of Labor only accepts claims up to a year old. Thank you.
