I was just laid off after 18 years and was offered 12 weeks of separation pay. I thought in many cases it would be 1 weeks pay per year worked. This is my first time being laid off so I am not that familiar with what would be considered standard practices for severance. I dont know if I am being short changed and should somehow ask for more or if I should just take the 12 weeks? Any info would be helpful. Thank you.
