I have fmla for my bipolar. Im allotted 2 consecutive days off in a row twice a month(4 days total). I usually don't use that much. Bi polar effects me genetically but environmentally too ( a chemical response vs an environmental trigger). I've been going through ALOT lately, including work place harassment and discrimination. I complained to several people in management and in my union how i felt as though I've been treated unfairly. Now my BiPolar action plan takes me through steps as to what i should do should i feel emotionally upset. Two of those steps are to A) reach out to friends and family and B) engage in activities that alleviate stress and boost my mood. Well I did that. I reached out to a friend. We got together and I vented to her about how I was feeling. She took me to the zoo, we had lunch, rented movies and she made me feel better. I posted a picture of her and I on Facebook. I was later pulled into my HR's office and accused of misusing my FMLA becsuse I posted pictures of me with my friend when i called in using FMLA. I've been suspended pending further investigation. I face termination. So basically in short. I felt harassed. I brought it to my unions' and companies attention and rather than stop the hostile work environment they are just going to try to fire me and accused me of misusing my FMLA. What are my rights? What should I do now?
