I don't know how to ask the question without seeming like a conspiracy theorist, so I will simply state what I know transpired. Approximately a month ago we had received word on the warehouse floor that a contract for our business was ending. Not out of the ordinary since tier one automotive businesses are very volatile. However concern began to creep it's way into the forefront due to the fact that along with the loss of the contract we would be reaquiring former employees. The reason this is concerning is because the employees were being brought back to fill positions that were already occupied. One of them is my position as Warehouse Supervisor. The warehouse manager approached me on a sidebar and relayed information that he says could get him fired if it was leaked. He then went on to state that he needed to speak with me privately. In confidence he says that they are bringing this employee back and that I would be relieved. I tried to let that sink in for the rest of the day. For a week this manager continually approached me updating me on the situation. Finally he came to me two weeks ago and said hey I wanna give you some heads up. My bosses are asking me to send them your write-ups. He then stated that he had seen this sort of thing happen a lot during his time and they are setting things in motion to compare your write up to the former employees write ups and are going to fire you and say that it's a business decision. You should beat them to the punch and resign. If you resign you can put your resignation in and say it's for three weeks giving you time to find employment. I will put my neck out there for you because we're friends. He continuously asked me and approached me and generated so much fear that I was going to get fired that I turned in my resignation. Do I have any grounds legally to take action against my employer.
