I am president of a non profit community Association. A committee member threatened the Director with physical abuse. Another meeting was held with this member to discuss his temper and he didn't want to discuss it any further and said he quits. This was

Physical abuse was he stood over the director with a clinched fist and said I should knock you out of that "F" chair. The is the point I stopped the meeting. Two weeks later another meeting was called with 2 other committee members and I to discuss his temper and to see if we could move forward. It was obivious with talking with him, he could not move on. He than stated he is so done and turned in all his equipment and said he is DONE. He has stated to a number of people he resigned. 48 hours later he was to appeal, with that said we have started the appeal process and a vote will be conducted. Someone is asking why he never resigned in writing. Is a verbal notice good enough?
