Do I have to disclose non-covid related symptoms?

What are the privacy laws now with the age of Covid? My employer (a private school) will make you specify what is wrong if you call out sick even if you state that it is Non-Covid related. I had to call out today because I have excruciating pain from endometriosis (which is on my health file) and I had two school nurses contacting me that the principal wanted them to check on me. I ended up having to share with one of them and she said “Oh next time you can just say lady problems”. Besides the fact that it is dismissive and insulting to say that, I am frustrated and uncomfortable with how my employer is asking questions I feel are inappropriate. This has to be wrong, right?
