Do I have legal recourse for breach of hiring contract

On January 22, 2010 I was interviewed by a nursing supervisor of a homehealth agency I had applied to online just days before. I am an LPN. In 2003 my license was revolked due to a prescription drug charge. It was a one time thing due to extremely stressful circumstances. My daughter was sexually molested by my husband and I did not cope very well and chose to medicate my pain. I had never done this before and haven't since. My case was expunged and my license was reinstated due to overwhelming support, from our sheriff, the board of nursing and a nurse support group who understood that this was not in normal character for me. Anyway, I applied for employment with a home health care agency for a nursing position and in the same week interviewed for this position. I applied online as they required and on that application I disclosed my entire history including the charges and the expungement and the revokation of my license..nothing was left out or hidden. Upon my interview this company was aware of my history and asked me about it in detail, which I gladly shared during our 3 hour interview. The interviewer was sympathetic and told me it would not reflect on my chances and stated she could offer me a job immediately. One week later she called to schedule a drug screening which I passed and gave me my orientation papers and said she couldn't wait for me to meet this family. The next step was the background check, which we had discussed during our interview due to the fact that although this record has been expunged it is still available for the public on the Tennessee Board of Nursing site, which I still don't understand, but anyway, this was acknowledged by the nursing supervisor who interviewed me and stated the only thing that would prevent employment would be if anything else other than that showed up. after another week of waiting for this background check to come back it finally came and as was expected, nothing other than what I had told her came back on it. The next time I talked to her she stated we would meet at the patients home the following Monday. I never heard another word from her after that. I tried to contact her to get directions and I tried to contact the scheduler who had first contacted me to get information and no return calls. After almost 4 weeks of being told I had the job and to hang in there, I finally called the corporate office and spoke with the human resources person who stated they could not hire me due to the issue on my background check. I stated, your company knew when they made the first call that this was there and I told the truth about everything and this was expected. I was also told it would not effect my being hired because I was honest. She just continued to state she could not hire me because of it. For nearly 4 weeks I have been waiting to go to work and have by-passed several employment opportunites because I was asked to hang in there and told I was hired. I have lost potential income and employment because I believed them when they told me everything was ok and that I had the job and I am currently on unemployment and can not afford to waste a month not accepting other jobs because I was told I had this one. Do I have any legal recourse?
