Do I have grounds for action?

I am leaving my current company due to a better job opportunity and lack of opportunity for growth in my company. However about a year ago I took a voluntary demotion and wonder if I have any grounds. While this was voluntary the circumstances or what i was lead to believe is not. We do offer for our employees remote or telecommute work. At that time leadership positions were still in pilot phases for remote workers. I had notified my employer that I was moving across the country and inquired if I would be able to hold my position. The decision was that it was still being tested so at this time it was not approved for me to keep my position. I then moved across the country and took a demotion. 4 Days after my official demotion date and new position start date, it was announced that a new leadership position had opened up (A leader left, my position was already filled though they were the same job) and that it was then open for remote workers or telecommuters. The person vacating that spot also gave 3 weeks notice. We work and bill to a client who has to approve new leadership positions to be posted when one becomes available based on the number of employees currently on the account. This is not a 4 day turnaround time. This typically takes about a month of discussion and service levels and payroll between us and the client before they approve posting the job. My employer and management would have known well ahead of time that it was open and that it would be available to remote workers at least 2 weeks before and did not inquire with me if I wanted to keep my job. I was at no risk of demotion or forced out of leadership as I was based on company metrics outperforming all other leaders on the account consitently month to month. When I inquired about why i wasnt approached I was informed that I had made the decision to move, however i had not demoted yet when my employer knew it was open and prior to me moving but did not post it until after 4 days after. Do i have grounds for wrongful demotion, or withholding information relevant to me keeping my position as they indicated i couldnt since it wasnt approved?
