Do I have any legal rights if my employer won't let me go to my therapist appointments?

I have been attending therapy sessions, as well as seeing a psychiatrist for over ten years, with wonderful results. I need to see these professionals regularly both to maintain my current medicine regimen and to maintain healthy social, mental, and psychological habits. My employer know this. However, they are now saying that they cannot allow me to go to my appointments because I have exceeded the amount of time off I am allowed per year. (This does not include PAID time off, which is non-existant, it just refers to plain and simple time off). I do not call in unless seriously ill, so the only explanation I have is that the amount of time I have been spending for therapy has been adding up. Please help if there is any legal way to ensure I can get the therapeutic help I need!
