Can my company go with an outside higher with out even acknowledging my application.

My current employer filled a position today with on outsider. I applied 3 months ago. I was not interviewed and have heard nothing from HR or the Hiring manager. Can I do anything?

It all depends, there is no right under law to be considered or interview for a specific job. An employer cannot exclude candidates from consideration if is on an illegal basis. I would make an almost casual inquiry to the HR manager, that you are surprised the job was filled without you hearing anything on your application. You need to at least have a basis for claiming that the failure to interview or consider was illegal, so look at the successful candidate and yourself and come up with an objective list to see whether you have any legal grounds.

Then see an employment lawyer near you, you can select one at www.oelasmart.net/directory
