Can i fight a layoff with arbitration and is this a form of harassment?
I have a long story. I just came back from maternity leave. Upon doing so my administrator calls me in for a meeting to tell me if the budget doesnt pass i will be laid off and i should start looking for work. This woman has harrased me since I told her I was pregnant. My civil service title at work is motor Vehicle operator but I work as a records manager. Not sure if thats legal or not but I have been doing this job for the last 9 years. I have told them for the last 9 years that my title doesnt fit what I do. Here is a brief description of everything I do. I retain and dispose of the entire school districts records, pick up broken musical instruments around the district which I log and send out monthly and yearly reports to the administration, I deliver the district mail if the Mail guy is out, help with bulk mailings, among many other things. It has been a mess. This woman has called me into meetings to tell me I need to think of more ways to utlize myself and to write her a letter of all my projects. When I was pregnant I couldnt lift more than 20 pounds or climb into the box truck that I deliver mail in and she had the head custodian weigh my boxes to make sure they were more than that. Also she made me write a letter of what I can do while pregnant and what I can't do. No other person in that district had to write such a letter. She made my 1st pregnancy so stressful. Anyway now I feel like she finally is finding away to get rid of me using the school budget as an excuse. Also so you know the laws about record keeping? Does a school have to have someone in that department? Not sure what to do or if I even have a case, just looking for some answers since my Union guy sucks and does nothing for me.
