Can employer reassign duties based on perception of disability-none claimed?

Supervisor reassigns duties to employee based upon her perception that employee has a health issue; employee asserts that no disability exists and inquires if reassignment is due to a performance issue. Supervisor assures employee that job performance is not at issue.

Further, supervisor notifies other employees that reassignment of duties for employee made so that employee does not get hurt.

No history of job performance issues; excellent performance evaluations.

No requests for concessions of any kind; employee repeatedly asserts her ability and willingness to perform original duties.

Thanks!
