Can an employer suspend somebody without that person even know they're on the verge of being suspended. I got suspended today for 3 days for having 6 or 7 not even call us but an hour late due to weather or the school calling that one of the boys were sic

I was pulled into the office today to let you know that I was being suspended for three days due to being late by an hour because there was a 2-hour delay or the school calling and saying one of the children were sick and I had to go home and pick them up. can they just suspend you without giving you any kind of notice warning written warning verbal warning whatever without you knowing that you're on the verge of being suspended. The 11 months that I have been there people have called off day after day after day after day but naked warning after warning after warning after warning and they have never once been suspended I myself did not know that I was even on the verge ever they told me it was okay I wasn't calling off I just had to make arrangements around it so for the following week I would go in a half hour early but not charged for it can they do this
