Can an employer search your belongings without you'r permission?

I am currently working for a fast food chain where the new manager searches our belongings (bags, coats, etc) to see if we are bringing food back home. I have told my manager many times that I do not bring anything back and she still checks my belongings when I am not around and right before I leave. When I challenge her she tells me if I do not let her check it that I can find employment else where. I'm pretty sure I have rights when it comes to my personal belongings since I did not sign any contract pertaining to personal search without permission. At the moment she is currently threatening me with unemployment if I do not work 5 days a week. I currently work 4 days because my other jobs work schedule overlaps the both schedule.

Your response is greatly appreciated
