Can a non compete agreement be enforceable when it does not compete with original contract hours?

I provide home care services for a home care agency for a client that receives 24 hours of contracted care. Family now wants overnight care as well, and solicited me for private pay/care instead of going through the home care service. The client is not suspending services with home care business, and I am honoring my hours scheduled through the company. I met with the President to discuss this issue (that the family is going to be paying for private care for overnights, whether it's with me or someone else), and was denied that opportunity and was threatened to be fined if I did that (As well as the client). I feel that there is not a breach of contract in this case. Please advise.
