Can I quit my job & collect because i'm so over worked & under payed??

I was hired 3 yrs ago as a project manager,pd salary to run local projects. 45-50hrs a wk was no problem but now the Co. has me running 3 projects 90 miles away & now working over 60 hrs. a week with out any extra compensation. I asked them for a raise because of the extra hrs i'm working & the traveling(1,000+) miles a wk. & they said no. If I don't quit & find a better paying job, i'll be bankrupt in 2 months. Is my quiting justified so I can collect unemployment?? How can a Co. make me go from 45-50hrs. to 60-65hrs. a week without paying me anything extra??? I thought Slavery ended yrs. ago??
