Can I file for unemployment if I was an independent contractor?
I was an independent contractor for a property management company in VA, but also do appraisals for my own company, but was just laid off for no reason other than they want to hire their son full time. (Three months prior I had asked to work full or part time and was denied). Can I file for unemployment? I need the income of both in order to pay my bills...
