Can I be terminated from a new position that I've already started, for failing a pre-employ procedur

I tested positive on a pre-employment drug test, but by the time the test came back, I had started working (HR did not notice/act in a timely way) and I received 2 paychecks. Since they made the mistake of allowing me to start, am I entitled to the policies in place for employees who test positive (re-testing/counseling/probation) before being fired (my position), or can the company simply rescind its offer of employment due to failing a pre-employment procedure (their position)?
