Being Forced to sign Non- Compete after being employed over a yr.

Hi, I work for a nail salon for over a year and a half and was told if I didn't sign the same day I will lose my job. Several red flags I felt was wrong was the document in question has white out on a former partners name and over it was the new partner name, wont let a 3rd party of my choice look over it, wont let me take it home to read is a big one with me. I am hired to do a skill that i came there already trained for and other then potential solicitation of clients I have no employee trade secrets that aren't known in my industry or are exclusive to this salon. Do I have any rights? I didn't sign the agreement as of now. I wasn't told when I was hired by this salon that such agreement was policy. I am also told I cant negotiate any terms in this contract is that legal?
