At Will - Noncompete

I signed a non compete after working for my employer for 8 years. I used to be straight commission and he switched me to base salary to entice me to sign the non compete. After 6 months with no notice he switched me back to straight commission. My question is since he violated the contract is the non competed still enforceable? There are a few paragraphs speaking of "At Will" and I wasn't sure if that would allow him to make changes without notice. There is a paragraph in the non compete that specifically states that any amendments would need to be in writing.
