Are FIT tax percentage different for Severance Pay. Is that correct?
My position,unfortunately eliminated with move of Company: Have a Salaried Severance Plan. Gross amount, (less my part for 2 months insurance) fine, BUT they took out alot more on taxes (FIT), than usual. This difference was not stated nor explained to me. They say in Illinois its 25%! Shocked- as totally amount is 60%
