Matt Hill is a Dallas employment lawyer who devotes his practice to representing employees who have been wronged by their employer. Before launching the Matt Hill Firm, Mr. Hill represented large employers accused of such wrongs.
Native Texan
Mr. Hill is a native of the Dallas Metroplex, having been born in Fort Worth. After attending the University of Texas at Dallas on a full academic scholarship and working at the largest plaintiffs' firm in Texas, Mr. Hill attended law school at the University of Chicago, then ranked the third best law school in the country by U.S. News & World Report. Mr. Hill focused his legal studies on trial advocacy (particularly the use of technology to persuade juries), labor and employment law, and the intersection of law with economics. During the summers while attending law school, Mr. Hill returned to Dallas to work at some of the largest and most respected firms in the city, including Jones Day, Vinson & Elkins, and Hughes & Luce, learning from extremely talented trial lawyers at each stop.

Upon graduation Mr. Hill returned to Dallas and chose to work at Hughes & Luce because of the firm's reputation for providing young lawyers with invaluable training and expertise and because of the opportunity to work with a respected group of lawyers in the field of law that most interested him: employment law. While at Hughes & Luce, Mr. Hill was able to learn from many employment lawyers who excelled at their craft and were eager to mentor him. Within a year, Hughes & Luce partners showed their confidence in Mr. Hill by beginning to assign him the responsibility for the day-to-day decisions in a number of his cases.
After gathering experience and learning the craft of employment law at Hughes & Luce, Mr. Hill was approached with an opportunity to join the Dallas office of Littler Mendelson, the largest labor and employment law firm in the United States. There, Mr. Hill was able to learn from the experiences of many more talented employment lawyers and to get a first-hand look at the litigation and negotiation strategies being employed by leading employment lawyers representing corporations across the country.

While at the defense law firms, Mr. Hill observed what strategies were successful for employees suing and negotiating with the large corporations. He saw what tactics corporations would use in defeating employees' claims. And he observed first-hand the thought processes of lawyers defending large corporations and what tactics might best motivate those corporations to fairly compensate employees for wrongs they suffered.
Armed with this knowledge, Mr. Hill launched the Matt Hill Firm to provide to individual employees the expertise he had previously provided to Fortune 500 companies, with the added benefit of having been on both sides of the negotiating table and courtroom.
Since its inception, the Matt Hill Firm has been aggressive and innovative in representing its clients' rights.
