Harrassment
A fellow employee advised me today that an ex-supervisor of mine, now a specialist, but still a salaried employee, is plotting to have me fired in order to cancel any and all retirement benefits I am due. His objective is to find me breaking the new company smoking policy. We had a similar confrontation approximately 5 years ago and he was reprimanded. Do I have a case?

At this point, it is hard to say whether you have a case. An attorney can help you to devise a strategy that might diffuse the situation. If you are in the north Texas area, you can call my assistant, Tia, to make an appt. for a consultation, at 972-490-0808.

From the short version of facts you gave, it is difficult to evaluate your case. I would consult with a local attorney. As far as your retirement benefits go, usually if you are vested the company cannot take those away from you.
